Story of You Introduces… Full STEAM Ahead

A year ago, if you had told any of us that we'd be here today, sharing the story of Full STEAM Ahead, we probably would have laughed in disbelief. Not because we lacked vision, but because we never could have predicted just how much this journey would grow, evolve, and surprise us. What started as a simple idea—a spark—has ignited into something far greater than we could have imagined.

Story of You Consulting began with a singular goal: to create spaces where students could explore their potential, not just academically but as whole individuals. Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside the passionate educators of Durham Public Schools, bringing math enrichment, career exploration, and social-emotional learning into the lives of students who, like us, are constantly discovering new possibilities for themselves. But somewhere along the way, something incredible happened.

Through the laughter of students figuring out a tricky math problem, the wide-eyed wonder of kids learning about careers they had never considered, and the trust built in spaces where emotions could be shared freely—we saw a new vision taking shape. Full STEAM Ahead wasn’t part of the original story, but it became clear that this was where our work was leading us.

Born from a community of dedication, teamwork, and the unwavering belief that learning should be both meaningful and joyful, Full STEAM Ahead is more than just a program—it’s a movement. It’s a promise to our students that their curiosity, creativity, and resilience will always have a place to thrive.

We are so incredibly grateful to our students, our educators, and our supporters for being part of this journey. And if this past year has taught us anything, it’s that the best stories—the ones that truly shape us—are often the ones we never saw coming.
